Cambridge Teams Place in 2015 Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is a major annual competition for students to test their science and engineering knowledge and skills. The local San Diego event is the largest regional competition in the nation with 116 teams participating. Most schools have long-standing Science Olympiad programs with seasoned coaches and students. In our second year, 18 Cambridge students from 6th to 9th grades competed.

Teams placed in the following events:

Bio Process (biology laboratory practices): 9th place & 20th place
Green Generation (environmental science): 13th place
Crave the Wave (wave physics): 19th place

Since Cambridge is still a pioneering school compared to other schools that fielded up to six teams with a total of 90 students, the four awards are significant and commendable achievements by our students. We are grateful to Mr.Duc Bui, our Science Olympiad coordinator, and all the volunteer coaches: Devin B, Ray H, Conyee L, Allen P, Reuben S, and Dr. Melissa Gingrich. Each coach and team spent long hours in preparation and learned to delight in God’s creation in new ways in the process. We are also thankful for Deborah H, who designed our team t-shirts, and Tanya N, Ralph N, and Mr. Jeff Yoder who volunteered on the day of the event.

Soli Deo Gloria!
