Memory Time
Every Friday morning, Cambridge students in K5 through sixth grade have an opportunity to present what they’ve learned in front of an audience.
The primary goals of this “Memory Time,” as it is called, is to train students to be confident and eloquent public speakers and to reinforce what they’ve learned in class.
The classical pedagogy employed at The Cambridge School emphasizes the use of songs, chants, jingles and rhymes as a means to learn important information, such as historical facts and timelines, science facts, math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication), Latin vocabulary, rules of grammar.
Children love to sing these songs over and over again, and this method is very effective at ingraining the facts into their long-term memory.
Parents, grandparents and friends are welcome to join us each Friday for Memory Time, and anyone else is welcome to come watch by contacting our Admissions Department in advance.
