Scripture
The Bible in its entirety, being the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is divine revelation that teaches us truth about God, ourselves and our world.  We submit to its authority as the only infallible rule of faith and practice, acknowledging it to be inerrantly inspired by God and carrying the full weight of His authority.

God
There is one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, infinite in love, perfect in judgments and unchanging in mercy.  God exists and acts eternally as three persons in one: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in power, love and glory, all of whom are to be loved and worshipped.

Creation and Humankind
Everything seen and unseen came into being by God’s creative Word.  Human beings are the crown of God’s creation.  They alone are made “in His image.”  All human beings enjoy equal dignity before God, regardless of sex, race or color, from the earliest beginnings of life to the moment of death.

The Fall
The first human beings were created sinless, but fell from the original perfection of creation when Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, thus marring the image of God in them and in all creation and breaking the glory of intimate fellowship with Him.  Because their guilt and corruption are inherited by all and because we ourselves disobey and choose to seek independence from God, we are now subject to divine justice and to evil, death, division and disorder in our relations with each other and with nature.  As such, we are sinners in need of God’s mercy.

Jesus Christ
The eternal Son of God became incarnate man in Jesus Christ.  We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His future personal return in power and glory.

Holy Spirit
The Father and the risen and ascended Son have sent the Holy Spirit to reveal and glorify Christ, effect regeneration, dwell in the heart of believers, and operate in their sanctification to enable them to live Godly lives.

Justification
Rather than leaving us to experience the just penalty of our sin, God chose, out of the depths of His love and mercy, to bring His children back into relationship with Him.  We believe that we receive salvation and are brought back into relationship with God only through faith in what Christ did for us through His life and death.  By imputing his perfect obedience to us, Christ declared us righteous in Him even though we remain sinful in ourselves. Thus, we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, and on the merit of Christ alone.  However, this faith without its accompanying works is dead.

Christians in Society
God desires that we live holy and obedient lives, not to earn His favor, but rather to show Him our love and gratitude.  Believing that Christ is Lord over all of life, and that God’s commandments are relevant and necessary to our present culture, we are therefore committed to thinking through cultural questions in a biblically-informed manner and acting appropriately.

The Church
The Church consists of all those in every age who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and form a corporate community of believers. This community is called to worship God, to live in the power of the Holy Spirit, to exercise discipline, to administer the sacraments, and to serve God by proclaiming His message of reconciliation to the world, edifying the faith of its members, and caring for those in need.

Resurrection of the Dead
At physical death, the believer passes into the presence of God.  Heaven is where the believer in Christ will forever experience the beauty and glory of God.  Hell is the place where those who die without Christ live eternally apart from God and any trace of His goodness.

Return of Christ
At the end of the age, Christ will return—in person, visibly, suddenly and in triumphant power and glory.  He will bring to consummation God’s plans for the whole of creation.  There will be a “new heaven and a new earth,” to the glory of God and the unending joy of renewed humanity.

Creeds and Confessions
We embrace and adopt the essential truths of orthodox Christianity as expressed in the ecumenical Councils of Nicea, Chalcedon and the Apostle’s Creed and as more fully articulated in the great confessions and creeds of the Protestant Reformation, accepting and focusing on those areas of doctrinal teaching on which, historically, there has been general agreement among all orthodox believers, and deferring to the family and the local church in areas of doctrine not set forth here.
